Circuit Court Judge Charles Simms issued a temporary restraining order Wednesday, bringing a halt to the Nelson County School System’s plans to remake its school campuses with a host of new construction projects. Joe Ballard, Chip McKay and Audrey Haydon, all of Nelson County, are the three names forwarded to Gov. Andy Beshear by the judicial nominating committee to fill the 10th Judicial Circuit that comprises Hart, LaRue and Nelson counties, according to a press release Thursday afternoon from the Supreme Court of Kentucky. Ballard and McKay are both prosecutors with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office for the 10th Judicial Circuit. They both graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law. Haydon is a lawyer in a private practice at Haydon Law and has practiced law for more than 10 years. She also serves as the Bardstown city attorney. She graduated from American University College of Law.
