Johor Sultan's foundation to provide glasses to 2,500 needy students in collaboration with optical company

JOHOR BARU: Some 2,500 school students across Johor will soon get free spectacles worth RM500,000 thanks to the Sultan Ibrahim of Johor Foundation (SIJF).
In a statement posted to Sultan Ibrahim’s official Facebook page on Monday (Feb 22), the foundation said it was collaborating with Season Optical to provide the spectacles.
Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, who welcomed the kind gesture by Season Optical, hopes other companies would similarly come forward with aid for those in need.

JOHOR BAHRU: A 40-year-old sewing machine will be the newest item to be on display at the Mersing Museum, which was opened by the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar in May 2016.
In a posting on his official Facebook site today, Sultan Ibrahim decreed that the antique sewing machine will be showcased at the museum.
The sewing machine, which belongs to a 90-year-old woman, was presented to His Royal Highness by her daughter, Choo Ming Hooi, 62, at Istana Flintstones yesterday.
“I am very grateful to the owner for wanting to show this antique sewing machine to me. It is no longer used by her, and because it is an antique item, it can be kept in a museum,” Sultan Ibrahim said in the posting. ....

MERSING: An old sewing machine that almost went into a dumpster will now be on display at the Mersing Museum here thanks to Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar.
His Majesty made a decree for the antique sewing machine to be displayed at the museum after spending some time observing the item, which is believed to be more than 40-years-old.
Sultan Ibrahim - who is an avid antique collector and has a variety of collections - added that as the sewing machine s owner said it was no longer usable and as an antique, it would be kept at the museum. ....
