would have mattered there, jim. i think this has been a months-long process. we have quadrupled the number of tests in the last couple months but we still need hundreds and hundreds of millions more given the demand. and i think we have got a good thing in in these tests. but there won t be enough in many places to get us through the most trying time and particularly the holidays. and how concerning is it that the fda is now saying these antigen tests, these at-home antigen tests may be less sensitive to picking up the omicron variant? that s a major piece of the strategy to keep schools open. really, to keep many of the, you know, airports and all these other important parts of our infrastructure open. i need to see more before i get too nervous and so i wouldn t just yet. it is a good reminder that almost every tool we have, whether it s a vaccine, a booster, at-home test, respiratory, a mask, isn t 100% perfect.

that could be done to stop this? alex, this is not a legit scenario. this is what trump is attempting to do in broad daylight. it s his plan. and you know, there s this powerpoint that recently came out in the public when they were literally after the election they were distributing a powerpoint presentation, members of congress, to people in the government that was a blueprint for how to overturn our democracy. donald trump doesn t believe in democracy. he believes only in himself. and he wants to purge anybody who isn t 100% loyal. that is undemocratic. it s un-american, and it s a danger to our system and to the american people. that s what s going on, and he s trying to replace election officials that have loyalty to him instead of to the constitution and instead of to the free and open vote of the american people. that s what we have to be honest is going on here.
destination. we ve seen a lot of people with luggage getting kicked out of their hotels trying to make their way to the airport or on the roads so they can get out back home or to higher ground. take a look at businesses here in the french corner. they have just boarded up their shops, just like this. they re used to doing this every storm that rose through from rita to katrina to now ida, boarding up, trying to make sure that debris doesn t break through that glass. but listen to one man i spoke with named jesse. he s lived in this area for a long time. we saw him out boarding up businesses. he says he has some 20 businesses that have hired him to put up plywood over the windows. here s why he says this storm has him worried. katrina obviously was the worst. but what does concern me isn t the winds. it s the rain and the storm surge because our levee system still isn t 100%. i mean, it could top that s my biggest concern.
thousands and thousands of people may be unaccounted for. i m not sure of the number, but there are lots of persons that are still unaccounted for. family members are still making pleas. the phone communication isn t 100%. it s in and out. so a lot of people s phones have died by now. so every timebook, every time i look, another group of people looking for loved ones. people have not heard from people since saturday or sunday. it s horrifying. shepard: denise lewis, do you have what you need? do you and your family and the people around you have water, food and shelter? right now, water is a real, real essential. we are trying to get water. i m out of water right now.
