And a ship carrying humanitarian aid is expected to set sail to the territory from cyprus this weekend, as part of a planned maritime aid corridor. Its a joint operation between the eu, us, uk, and United Arab Emirates aiming to bring supplies from cyprus to the coast of gaza. The un says a quarter of gazas population is on the brink of famine, and children there are starving to death. Organisers hope the plan could allow large amounts of extra aid, but say it will be complex and continue to press israel to allow more deliveries by road. We begin in cyprus, where a Spanish Charity ship carrying vital supplies is preparing to set sailfor gaza along a new maritime aid corridor. Its been loaded with around 200 tonnes of food and medical supplies. But, without a working port, its not clear yet where the ship will actually dock or how its cargo will be distributed inside gaza. 0ur middle east correspondent Quentin Somerville is in the Port City Of Larnaca in cyprus and sent us this report. The United Nations says children and adults are now starving to death, and that more than 500,000 palestinians are on the brink of famine. Ceasefire talks between israel and hamas have stalled, making it unlikely a deal will be reached by the start of ramadan this weekend. Reports have emerged that five palestinians were killed friday after being hit by an air dropped aid package that failed to deploy its parachute. The bbc has not been able to independently verify the claims of Civilian Casualties.
