this wednesday morning. morning joe starts right now. i think, you know, any patient that or elderly individual or someone who has dementia, they can find some moments of clarity, right? they can find moments throughout the day that they have energy and look. i think that trump s team should not underestimate joe biden and his team s ability to, you know whether they are going to jack him up on mountain dew or whatever it is, that, look. the state of the union this year he had a lot of energy for about an hour and/or an hour and a half, but it doesn t mean, you know, what we are seeing is, obviously, throughout the day, he can t carry that level of energy. what is so amazing about that, willie, is that that jacked up mountain dew did not come from some guy they picked up off the street, right? that was, like, rolling dice against the side of a wall or something. i m sitting there halfway going, who is this guy? he is an elected member of congress. sure. who is
opinion. we should be doing this together and to our kurdish allies, i understand where they stand and the risk they are absorbing and the loss they are incurring. that s where turkey has to be sent a message. you cannot get away with this. i appreciate the fact that the vice president is going there first hand. we need to send a message. i believe today we will send a message with this vote to sanction turkey for their aggressive action in ways of going way too far with our turkish allies. will you call on the president, a vote in the house to describe the mission in u.s. forces in isis? send troops to fight isis? if we put our men in harm s way, they re risking their actual lives, these leaders have lose their political live careers. it s great to be with you, jim. we are getting some critical headlines from the white house, the president if that meeting with italy s president, some
brigg men and women home from the region is a good policy. two points obviously, jim, we have a complicated situation we have to deal with. the mission there as you know was to fight and defeat isis, which those u.s. forces as a force multiplier really for the kurdish forces who are the tip of the spear had enormous success in repeat months. what can be a clearer mix for u.s. forces that took to defeat the isis caliphate? well, that s why i do appreciate it. that is the mission. you know, we have been playing fast and loose with congress not doing its job and authorizing military force and putting our men and women in harm s way. so if the mission is to defeat isis. let s go to congress, have congress voes on this. the leaders in both parties should authorize the use to use military force. when a defeat occurs, then we know we can bring our men and women home. i m not exactly sure that was the issue. if there was a vote we got together and said the mission in syria for u.
the kurds fight isis, you would want those u.s. troops to go back on the ground there? no, that would give me a clear military plan of action, with a clear definition of success. i d feel much more comfortable with the situation rather than this nebulous, we re using 2001 law to try to authorize the troops in harm s way. we re stronger as a nation when congress is doing its job and the president is leading. so therefore, that would be my path to recommend going forward. let me ask you this, you say and the president said the troops are coming home. in fact, the ap is reporting that the soldiers that have been withdrawn from syria, they re being redeployed to iraq where many will still do cross-border raids against isis forces if they rear their ugly head again as it were or to kuwait and jordan. so those troops aren t coming home. they re still in the battle on the ground there, explain the benefit then. it s unclear to me if that s the case. i ll reading those reports just
to authorize everything that they want to do when they want to do it. you use your good offices in your power, your compelance not to get dirt on joe biden but to effect a situation that benefits all of your interests. and you have to deal with damascus, too. the kurds were working out a deal with assad in damascus. a deal not unlike they worked out in baghdad, the iraqi kurds worked out in baghdad. that s to have some autonomy. right now the best part of iraq is the northern part where the kurds are. baghdadis go to sulmonia to vaxvax vacation. assad will be takie ining advan of that and won t want to talk to them or give them anything. so this is the most unwise, inept, incompetent diplomatic team i ve ever seen at work in washington. and that s saying something. let me quickly play you from fox news sunday this morning. this is the defense secretary mr. esper and what he s talking about with u.s. forces.
