Accelerating COVID-19 mutations may be on the way to making the virus immune to treatments and vaccinations, a leading member of NPHET has warned.
‘While they may not be resistant at this point in time I think the concern is that they may be on the way to being resistant,’ Dr Cillian De Gascun told the Irish Mail on Sunday.
He warned that the virus has mutated faster and in more diverse ways than expected.
