So this morning im going to talk to you about the food fights or rationing in world war ii. We all know that teenagers and most of us work with teenagers have large appetites. I have one at home with an incredibly large appetite. Id like to try to engage kids with a topic that not only fits their appetite but also increases their appetite for learning. And i find that food is oftentimes a very engaging topic. Napoleon or frederick the great, depending on who you listen to, once said that an army marches on its stomach. To supply not just the u. S. Army but increasingly throughout world war ii also that of our allies. Prisoners are war, and those we the people of the United States had to implement Innovative Solutions to foundational problems. Food production and distribution. These solutions impact not only wartime but also the way that we eat today
Thats 90 miles from Yellowstone National park, drawing many tourists to the city. We will learn about the history and the surrounding region. When i first moved, there were so many named story. A story streets, story motors, story distributing. Lot written on him. There was a historian who said bozeman is misnamed. Personally i think bozeman has a better ring to it than any of those other options. I was curious about nelsons story, since his name was plastered all over the place. Has not been a fulllength biography ever written about him. Over the years i put it together. Nelson story was one of the more successful western capitalists in the history of the American West. If you take a step back and try and name others, you come up with Leland Stanford in california. Im sure that name rings a bell area you would have John Creighton from nebraska. One of the things you can see from the powerpoint is that 50 of japans exports are fabric and silk. 32 of that comes to the united states. And that they were our only source of silk. So you can imagine how, obviously, pearl harbor is going to impact silk and other fabrics in the unite
