Ghaziabad: A day after a 15-year-old boy went missing from Muradnagar, his body was found lying on a farm, about 800 metres from his home, early on Thursday. The teenager, Nitesh Kumar, was a Class 9 student and lived with his parents and his younger sister in Muradnagar. He had gone to meet someone on Wednesday afternoon but didn’t return home. His parents said they called on his mobile number more than 50 times. When there was no response, they started a search operation for him. After failing to trace him, the boy’s parents lodged a complaint at the Muradnagar police station. Dr Iraj Raza (SP rural) said an FIR was lodged under Section 363 (punishment for kidnapping) of the IPC and the teenager’s mobile phone was put under surveillance. His last location came up near Muradnagar village. ....

One night, they managed to break into a jewellery shop and flee with cash and valuables worth lakhs. More than a decade on and after several trips to jail the couple now manage a gang of burglars. Not just in UP alone, this “Bunty-Babli” gang is active in six other states Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Delhi. While Shama was arrested with three of her gang members from Modinagar on Wednesday night, Tanveer is still on the run. Their latest burglary took place on February 26 in Modinagar, where they stole jewellery after cutting open the shutter of a store. The gang had raided another store in Sahibabad on February 9. When police scanned CCTV footage, they found that the same gang was behind both burglaries. This helped cops round them up. ....
The couple now manages a gang of burglars that operates not only in Uttar Pradesh but also Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Delhi. ....
