Five country-made pistols and some rounds of live cartridges, besides several finished and semi-finished parts used in making guns, were seized by the Muradnagar and Tronica city police teams. The accused were identified as Rafique, Rizwan, Zuber, Abdul Rehman Anas and Sagar. While the first four were arrested by the Tronica city police team, Anas and Sagar were arrested by Muradnagar police. SP rural Iraj Raza said that first the Tronica city police nabbed four accused from Rafique’s house where they made the weapons. “During questioning, they told police that Anas and Sagar would further supply the weapons in the rural areas of the district and in Meerut,” the SP said, adding that working on a tip off, the Muradnagar police arrested Anas and Sagar and seized five pistol ....

Two held for beating diver to death May 19, 2021, 04:48 IST Ghaziabad: Police on Tuesday claimed to have cracked the murder of a diver from the Muradnagar area, with the arrest of two men within 24 hours of the crime. Sonu (22), cops said, was beaten to death by his friend and the latter’s brother on Monday afternoon after an argument between the trio during a drinking session turned violent. A video of the crime has already gone viral on social media platforms. In the video, Kamal and his brother Vikas can be seen beating Sonu with sticks. They hit Sonu at least 15 times on a busy road but not a single passerby came to his rescue. After cops were alerted, a team from the local police station rushed Sonu to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. ....
Ghaziabad: Three men were arrested from Tronica City area on Wednesday and more than 60 cartons of used gloves were recovered from the trio. Police said they used to wash and repackage the gloves to sell them in the market. Police also seized 98 cartons of used blue-coloured gloves from them. The accused have been identified as Jamir Ahmad alias Guddu, Azim Ahmad and Mohammad Parvez. All three are Delhi residents. Dr Iraj Raza, SP rural, said they had taken a factory on rent for the past two months and they installed a washing machine and a dryer at the unit. “Police got a tip off and a raid was conducted. We found that the accused were using the washing machine to clean the gloves and then packing them to be sold,” Raza said. The value of the seized items is more than Rs 6 lakh, he added. Police suspect that the used gloves were being checked for damage, washed, dried and then packed. Chemicals used for cleaning the gloves have also been seized and police have sent ....
