26-year-old Kendall L. Einhorn was taken to Clay County Hospital after a single-vehicle accident near Enterprise yesterday morning. Wayne County deputies say he was northbound on Enterprise Road, ramped off a ditch embankment, went airborne over a county roadway, and came to rest after striking another embankment. A tow truck was called to the scene, and the vehicle sustained over $1,500 damage.
The Grayville City Council met last night and discussed a ban on planting trees, shrubbery, or other flora in public right-of-ways. Some members felt small ornamentals could be fine, but others said things planted today could be problems tomorrow. The council will move forward with developing the language for the ordinance before holding any vote. ....

Delinquent letters for Edwards County property taxes were issued Monday, and publication will be next Wednesday. People wanting to keep their names out of the paper must pay by 3:30 this afternoon. In Wayne County, certified letters went out last week, publication will be on January 19
th, and the final day to keep a name out of the paper is January 4
th.
A juvenile was arrested last night by Fairfield police after a reported fight. Police responded to 7 Manor Circle and found 21-year-old Keenes resident Colten H. Stewart, who claimed to have been beaten by two males, one of which had already departed. The juvenile was taken to the Wayne County Jail and released to his mother pending a court appearance. Stewart did not require medical assistance. ....
