Macdonald Holding Court statue in front of the Picton Library. Mayor Steve Ferguson called the meeting after the discovery of remains of 215 Indigenous children at a residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia. A vigil was held at the Holding Court site on May 30. It was estimated more than 200 people attended the vigil with many leaving shoes (some remaining on the steps of the library) in recognition of the children.
