The royal family has been rocked by several damaging claims, including allegations of racism, by the Sussexes in Sunday night s broadcast. The interview has thrown the light of day on the grubby institution of monarchy and how it functions, said Graham Smith, chief executive of the campaign group Republic, which launched a petition calling for the abolition of the monarchy on Monday.
