Good evening. This brewery did reopen tonight. But repairs, theyre going to take weeks. Keith jones is joining us live at that crash scene tonight in northern liberty. Such a close call there, keith. Reporter jim, theyre open right now, though. Second street goes this way, this uhaul was coming up the street this way, jumped the curve and demolished the urban village there. My heart races every time i see it. Its very scary. Reporter the uhaul crashing through the glass. One woman barely escaping. Workers shocked. Sitting there having a conversation, the next thing you know a uhaul truck comes crashing through the window. Reporter he said it was a miracle no one was hurt. Even knocked off this bumper. She did her ph. D. Under one of the Great Southern historians. His name is bertram wyatt brown. He passed away just a few years ago, but he had just an incredible career. His most important book entitled southern honor. Im so pleased to have one of berts former students and a student whos had a very impressive publication record, her most recent book released by lsu and the title, the civilian war confederate women and Union Soldiers during shermans march. We have talked a lot about original research and those historians who love to dig into the archives, read manuscripts, let skpers diaries. Lisas book is chock full of that primary research. And she in just a few minutes will reveal to us new dimensions of shermans march. And you will hear the voices of women that are often overlooked. It is my pleasure to introduce lisa tendrich frank. New museum of the American Revolution. A few yards over on this side is Independence Hall, which everyone knows. Between these Historic Buildings is Carpenters Hall which is less well known but also a structure of significance to all americans because it was here that the Continental Congress met for the first time and made the decision that eventually led to the open revolution and the declaration of independence. Were on the first floor of Carpenters Hall and youll remember from your perhaps grade School History lessons that in 1773 a group of supposedly indians, at least they were dressed up that way, threw a lot of chests of tea in the Boston Harbor in protest of taxes levy by the crown in parliament, along with imports to america. The british had a strange idea that maybe the columnists ought to pay for some of the defenses that they are providing against the french and other people who have interest in north america. At any rate, the crown was furious and as a result they passed
