severe summer weather continues across the u.s. and europe. in the northeast, millions of residents bracing for yet another weather system after a weekend of heavy rains and more flooding. and there are air quality alerts now for major cities including new york, chicago, and pittsburgh. from those canadian wildfires still going. in the west and south, there are new triple digit records possible from nevada to florida. across the atlantic, spain and italy hit with a similar heat wave. joining me kathy park in bucks county, pennsylvania. marissa parra in phoenix. claudia is in rome. kathie, the tragedy for weekend storms in eastern pennsylvania, i know that area really well. what are you hearing from local officials today? reporter: good afternoon to
worse in a few spots. so we re going to challenge some all-time records. the 117 in vegas, we ve done that twice, 2013, 2021. the record street for 110-degree days in phoenix is 18. we just hit 14. let s look at the forecast in vegas. this has gone up a little bit. we re predicting to tie the record on sunday. look how brutal this step is, the warmest three days ever in las vegas, by the way, saturday, sunday and monday. how about phoenix? are we going to get relief there? not really. saturday 117, 116 on sunday. it looks like in phoenix, we ll tie that streak of 110-degree days. we ll break it on tuesday. wednesday about 114. we may get a tiny bit of relief, maybe 105 or so, 110 by the end of next week. how about our friends in vermont? you re under a severe thunderstorm watch. all the thunderstorms over western and central new york are heading your way this weekend. the ground is super saturated.

to her script for dear life as if somehow reading it will help her get through these criticisms. chris christie is interesting because his poll numbers have gone from 1% to 5%. he s the only republican in the bottom tier who seems to be enjoying something of a boost in polls and that must be related to his attacks on donald trump because it s the only thing he s going to do. is it ever going to get him to 40%? it seems unlikely. the moment the field is so divided and so unwilling to take on trump, and all the time, even with all of the legal problems that trump is having for the moment, those legal problems are helping trump raise money and appearing to give him consolidation in the polls, let s see what happens as we get into the election, and see how the legal cases play out with swing voters in atlanta, in phoenix, in wisconsin, but for the moment, he seems to be benefitting from the rest of the field not attacking him and the legal problems which are
