This indicate that he s going to have a really bumpy road and that the house republicans are going to have a tough time getting stuff passed. anyone who wants to be speaker with this small of majority that s a pretty impressive thing. i think if he actually does get the vote after, this you know, he stood up for, what is it 10 now that he has lost. if he can build a coalition now. i think that speaks to what has worked well for him thus far. he s not super ideological. he works with different groups. and he that seems to have gotten him a lot of support. not getting him what he needs right now. it sounds like that he might be able to still make it. bret: waiting on official announcement of this vote but we see it on the side of the screen. trey? i actually think this will be the best week of kevin s life if he is the speaker. as miserable as it is this will be the best one. the other thing i don t get is conservatives hate the filibuster in the senate. they hate the fact that 40 ....
This spectacle to play out on primetime television, then you re not interested in what s best for the republican party. but that leaves 16. and i think kevin is trying to pick them off one by one. bret: mollie? we have seen so 78 people talk about how chaotic and embarrassing this is. i think a lot of this is about just democracy in action. we are seeing people going down and voting and debating. this is generally a good thing. and, it also is a lesson for the republican party, i think, in that you have these 20 members who do not have a majority. but they re showing thousand we would power to accomplish their objectives. their objectives, when were talked about last night on last night s show are reasonable. they want some rules changes. they want some control of some committees. and these are the types of things that this is when they have the leverage. this is when they have the power. they are working those things out. right now, as trey just mentioned. they re in debates rig ....
Lodging, to cover ground expenses, to cover hotels for these delays and cancellations that were their responsibility. the reason we re able to enforce that is because of the stepped up customer service standards that we were able to get over the summer. so while, obviously, you know, i can t reach in and fix one company s it. bret: you re not going to call for leadership to resign or something like that. look, i think leadership has some serious questions to answer. i know the ceo is pretty new we have to look why they didn t make the investments that could have helped prevent. this what i know for sure and this is important for anybody who is watching this to know. you are required to get your money back if your flight was canceled. and you re required to get it within seven days in terms of your refund. and you were required to get your expenses covered. i know a lot of passengers right now still having issues. they have gotten to where they are going. they are still having issue ....
Discipline? kevin mccarthy. on the point of spending, let me show you a list of everyone who has written me in the seconds congressional district who has asked me to cut spending. i m holding up a blank piece of paper. no one has asked me to cut spending in writing. and there are not many people who get a lot of mail in this house to cut spending. and to set spending priorities. in contrast, we get hundreds of letters asking us to increase spending. but we re at a critical pointed in this nation s fiscal health and there s one person who help see us through it. kevin mccarthy. how do i know? because he has said it himself and he has identified how to do it. in 2018, then majority leader kevin mccarthy, brought a balanced budget amendment to the floor of this house. [applause] ....
