Up that comes on tuesday . Good evening. A british man has died and 47 others have been injured after a flight from heathrow hit severe turbulence on its way to singapore. Passengers say within seconds of the Seat Belt Sign being turned on the aircraft plummeted thousands of feet, throwing passengers, crew and belongings around the cabin. It fell with such force that some hit with force and went through the plastic ceiling of the plane, where the oxygen masks are routinely fitted. The flight data shows the plane falling about 5,000ft, from a Cruising Altitude of 37,000ft in the space ofjust two minutes. It was then diverted to bangkok airport. Singapore airlines confirmed that a british man, 73 years of age, who had a previous heart condition, died, possibly from a heart attack. His wife has also been taken to hospital. Of the 46 passengers and one crew member injured, seven are said to be in a severe condition in hospital. A further 23 are described as having medium injuries. Singapor

We reject that. And will always stand with israel and the threats against its security. Mr khan alleges there is evidence to suggest starvation has been used by the Prime Minister and his Defence Minister as a method of war against civilians. He also alleges israeli leaders killed wilfully, intentionally directing attacks against civilians. Mr netanyahu has described the allegations as absurd. In respect of hamas, the prosecutor alleges there is clear evidence they ordered mass murder, rape and the Inhumane Treatment of hostages. A panel of iccjudges must now decide whether they believe the evidence is sufficient to issue warrants, something which could take weeks or months. Our Diplomatic Correspondent paul adams explains more from jerusalem. The icc prosecutors decision to seek Arrest Warrants against members of hamas and the israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Defence Minister yoav gallant has caused outrage all around. Hamas have said they believe the icc is confus

Inside the cabin of flight 50321 from london to singapore, after it hit extreme turbulence in the skies over myanmar. It led to the death of a british passenger in his 70s who had a suspected heart attack and more than 50 other people on the Singapore Airlines flight were injured, seven of them critically. And just look at this graph that shows the altitude of the plane over several hours you can see how the plane plummeted by around 6,000 feet in just a few minutes. Not everyone had a seat belt on, and objects and passengers were hurled around the cabin by the turbulence. The plane then made an Emergency Diversion to bangkok in thailand, from where our South East Asia correspondent Jonathan Head joins us. Here at Bangkok Airport they have sent a special flight to pick up those passengers who did not need medical treatment to help but get on to their ultimate destination in singapore but we believe more than 70 people needed to be treated in hospital here in thailand. at how prepared the uk was before the pandemic. and even at this stage, before hearing the evidence, it is apparent that we might not have been very well prepared at all. questions have been asked about why it has taken time for the uk covid public inquiry to get under way. sweden s, for example, was concluded last year. but officials here say it is one of the first with the power to compel witnesses to attend and with hearings in public. and bruce is clear what he wants to see from the inquiry. there s very little i can do about my mum now, but i think it s more to do with that kind of making sure that something like this never happens again, that we are prepared, that the investment is there. scotland has its own inquiry starting later this year. the uk version is now under way, though the hearings are set to run until 2026. hugh pym, bbc news.
