Campus,states main only 10 miles from here, where the shooting took place. We are very excited to have this program of national and local interest. Mr. Means is a editor at the washingtonian, author and coauthor of 10 books, including Andrew Johnson and the 45 days that changed the nation, Johnny Appleseed the man, the myth, an american story, and the first biography on colin powell. What makes your book the real custer . The easiest way to answer that question is to say that is what the publisher wanted. That is the title. I think it is better to view it not as a conclusion, like this is the real custer, but more like a question. Who was the real custer . What we know about this guy. Little bighorn is so pervasive when we talk about George Custer, the whole man is the mistakes he made on that day. That is not the case. Yet a whole life and a whole character and he was a whole person. The book is about trying to get to the root of that question.
