2005年耗資逾2億打造的大型高雄宴會餐廳海寶國際大飯店，疑受疫情影響歇業，據了解，海寶大飯店尚有30多名勞工，高市勞工局表示，資方大量解僱員工，必須在60天前向勞工局報備相關的解僱計劃，勞工局今天將主動入場調查，若確認違反規定，依法可以裁處業者10萬至50萬罰款。海寶大飯店占地3千坪，可提供300桌、3000多人的宴會用餐空間，據了解，該餐廳歇業大門深鎖，勞工局表示，依目前狀況懷疑資方涉及大量解僱勞工，沒有在大量解僱前60天，依規定向勞工局報備相關的解僱計劃。
