THE new toilets on Brighton and Hove seafront will be open 24/7, it can be revealed. The city is getting 24 more seafront loos ahead of what is expected to be a busy bank holiday weekend. The temporary sites will be in place for 18 weeks until the beginning of September.
Brighton and Hove City Council has announced the new toilets will remain available to the public every hour of every day. They will be cleaned three times a day at the weekends, Bank Holidays and school holidays, and twice on weekdays. The council says people are encourage people to carry their own supplies where possible “just in case”.
BRIGHTON and Hove is getting more seafront toilets ahead of what is expected to be a busy bank holiday weekend. Last month, beachgoers faced huge toilet queues as crowds flocked to the seaside to enjoy the easing of lockdown.
Brighton and Hove City Council is installing 24 new toilets at six different seafront sites in efforts to avoid similar scenes. The locations, and nearest permanent toilets, are:
Brighton • Opposite the Artist’s Quarter near the carousel. Four loos plus one separate urinal. Distance to nearest permanent loo is Shelter Hall or Dalton’s Bastion 400m • Next to the basketball court. Four loos plus one separate urinal. Nearest, Shelter Hall 200m
