In response to a Right to Information (RTI) request filed by JoyNews, the Ministry of Finance disclosed startling figures regarding judgment debt payments made by government of Ghana between 2017 and 2022.
More than GH¢300 million has been paid by the Akufo-Addo government as judgment debt between 2017 and 2022, the Ministry of Finance has revealed in response to a Right to Information (RTI) request.
The ministry disclosed in a letter dated August 2023 that GH¢300,385,317.52 was disbursed during this period as judgment debt to various individuals, companies and entities.
