The West Virginia House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee has advanced a resolution to study locating a state park at Cheat Lake in Monongalia County. The move follows concerns about the future of over 300 acres Lake Lynn Generation LLC has proposed be removed from Federal Energy Regulatory Commission oversight.

The Division of Natural Resources says it would cost the agency over $1 million in annual revenue and force cuts to at least four Natural Resources police officers.
