NEW BEDFORD Prospective recreational marijuana businesses that want to operate in New Bedford must submit applications for host community agreements (HCAs) by Friday, April 30.
A host community agreement is a contract negotiated between a municipality and a marijuana establishment that includes all terms necessary for the establishment to operate in the municipality, according to the state s Cannabis Control Commission.
All applications to the city s Planning Department must include a certificate of compliance with local zoning and a demonstration of site control, among other materials.
The city in 2018 established administrative procedures to implement the state law allowing for the retail sale, processing and cultivation of recreational marijuana. ....
