A few other tidbits to pass along. they recovered the black box out of that train. it s now at a lab in delaware and they re efforting getting information off that black box. thank you for joining me today. i m carol costello. at this hour starts now. hello, everyone. i m john berman live in new york. and i m kate bolduan coming to you live right now from philadelphia. behind me is the scene we are talking about. it is a horrific scene. it s far back there. you can see crews coming in and out. the latest numbers we have most important thing to tell our viewers is that the number of dead from this tragic accident is still six people killed. rescue teams are on the scene right now still looking for victims, still working through what is just mangled metal, which was a train of seven cars.
Derailing outside of philadelphia. the pictures, we want to show you them over and over again. they speak volumes. they say more than words i can provide or describe about the scene and how horrific it is. just take a look at all of it. the train s engine, seven cars as i mentioned, overturned, derailed. crushed. ripped apart. looks like shredded paper in some places by the shear force of the crash. some of the cars so badly mangled first responders had to use hydraulic rescue tools, so-called jaws of life we heard about before, to reach people who were trapped inside. many passengers talking about having to crawl through windows to try to get out. survivors describe terrifying moments in the aftermath. phones, laptops, even people flying through the air, luggage flying through the air on each of the trains. searchers have recovered this is important part of the investigation. the train s black box is being
