Christian County Magistrates Approve To Apply For More CARES Act Funding

The City of Hopkinsville will also see some funding from the CARES Act from Governor Beshear. Magistrates also approved to accept ownership of the recently renovated Hopkinsville Carnegie Library building at 708 Liberty Street. Magistrate Darrell Gustafson said the building would continue to be leased to the organization that uses it until a permanent use for the building is established.   Christian County magistrates will meet again Tuesday morning, January 12, at 8:30. Whether that meeting will be in-person or virtual has yet to be determined.

Christian Fiscal Court getting $812k more in CARES funding

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio Dec 16, 2020 10:42 AM Christian Fiscal Court requested its final payment of CARES relief funding from round one Wednesday morning and made its formal request for a second round. Judge-Executive Steve Tribble says the third request from round one of CARES Act funding is for about $817,000 that will be used to pay salaries of sheriff’s office and jail personnel. Christian County officials recently learned they were eligible for one-time payment of about $812,000 from a second round of CARES expenditures and Judge Tribble says some of that money will also reimburse COVID testing expenses for the health department, in addition to salaries from the sheriff’s office and jail.
