Troy fundraiser to benefit 20 displaced by fire

TROY, N.Y. — Mazzone Hospitality and the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area (BGCCA) recently announced they are holding a fundraising event on Friday, May 14 to benefit the 20 residents displaced by the April 25 fire on 4th Street. The event includes a spaghetti and meatball dinner as well as a silent auction and will be held at River Street Market, 433 River Street in Troy. Presale tickets for the dinner as well as donations can be placed online at https://bgcalbany.z2systems.com/eventReg.jsp?event=164&.  The spaghetti and meatball dinner is prepared by Mazzone Hospitality and available for $10 each. Included are spaghetti with marinara sauce, meatballs, grated parmesan, red pepper flake, and an Italian roll with butter. Napkins and disposable cutlery are available. The meals will be served for hot takeout by volunteers from Mazzone Hospitality as well as the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Region. Another bagel bakery opens in Albany

Its bagels are for sale at the Delmar Farmers Market and for pickup and local delivery. There is not a retail storefront. Last month, home-baking delivery operation prior to it takeout location opening in late summer in Albany’s Whitehall neighborhood. Nyx bagels cost $2.50 each for plain, $3 for flavors including everything, black-and-white sesame, cheddar-scallion, “super seed” and gojuchang black sesame. Nyx, with a tagline of “A Scratch Baking Co.,” also offers muffins ($3-$4), macarons ($2.50) and cookies ($2). Its products are made exclusively with organic flour grown and milled in New York.
