Libbert K's 14, leads Blair Oaks to 6-0 win vs. Capital City

For almost any other pitcher, it would be considered a superb outing. But for Wil Libbert, Monday was just another typical start on the mound for him. The Blair Oaks left-handed pitcher went five-plus innings without allowing a hit to the Capital City Cavaliers. He struck out 14 of the 17 batters he faced, leading the Falcons to a 6-0 victory at the Falcon Athletic Complex. ....

For the first time all season, the Blair Oaks Falcons were trailing at halftime. But just like every game this season, the Falcons were leading as the final seconds ticked on the game clock. Falcons' defense a strength in victory against Tigers

The Blair Oaks defense felt it had something to prove coming into the 2022 season. Last year, the Falcons gave up 371 points, the most in a single season since the program began in 1976, and allowed an average of 30.9 points per game. Blair Oaks showed week after week this season it had grown into a better defense, both through maturity and on-the-field play. But its turnaround wouldn’t be complete without one last defensive stop Friday night. And the Falcons got it. ....
