My father and my uncle were leaders of that protest, and it was a protest that really kick started. The civil rights movement was the first direct mass action protest. My dad was a boycott organizer, my dad, the late Judge Thomas Gray and his younger brother, youngest brother Fred Gray, who is a renowned civil rights lawyer. He represented Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King and a young teenage girl named Claudette Colvin, who was also involved in the movement.
