Apr 17, 2021 Shane M. Kennedy, 39, of Roaring Spring, passed away Monday. He was born in Altoona, son of Michael Kennedy and Sherri (Benton) Snyder. Surviving are his father, of Roaring Spring; his mother and her husband, Wade, of Hollidaysburg; a sister, Brandey Kennedy and fiance, Chris Pavlick, of Salix; three children: Kalysta, Isabella and Barrett Kennedy; two nieces, Claire Kennedy and Kathryn Brendel; his grandparents, James W. and Marlene Kennedy; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Sherwood Benton; and beloved grandmother, Dorothy Benton. Shane was a 2000 graduate of Central High School, where he played football, basketball, baseball and volleyball. He attended South Hills Business School, where he received an associate’s degree in networking and programming. ....
Mar 10, 2021 BELLEVILLE Deb Civitts of Bellville, has announced she is seeking re-election for the office of Mifflin County Treasurer. Civitts has over 20 years’ experience working in the county treasurer’s office. Civitts obtained an associate degree from South Hills Business School. Upon graduation, she worked in the private sector, setting up and training staff on accounting software for six years prior to starting her work in public accounting at the Mifflin County Treasurer’s Office. Civitts is a lifelong resident of Mifflin County. She has two children, Kelly, who is married to Rich Strausburg, and Brian Civitts, whose wife is Whitney. She has two grandchildren Nathan and Alyssa Strausburg. ....
