Office. He says they were meant to be money savers while critics say hes trying to sabotage the november election. Speaking of the election, you know were talking last night. Former Vice President joe biden officially accepted his partys nomination. Heres part of what he had to say. This is our moment. This is our mission. May history be able to say that the end of this chapter of american darkness began here, tonight. As love and hope and light join in the battle for the soul of the nation. And this is a battle we will win and well do it together. I promise you. More on the dnc in a minute. I want to start this morning on this mornings hearing. My colleague Leigh Ann Caldwell is following the action on capitol hill. Geoff bennett is at the white house. Rules as we think they may go down for this senate trial. Talk us through what youre hearing from the sources. Thats right, hallie. We are still waiting to see the entirety of this resolution from the Senate Majority leaders office. At this point i think everyone is prepared for us to not see it until tuesday when it starts to head straight to the senate floor. But our Leigh Ann Caldwell reported there are two sources telling her there will be 24 hours of debate for each side as we knew during the clinton impeachment trial. But then its going to be over two days instead of three. So what that means is if democrats want to use all of their argue time they have to do it in two 12hour days. This of course doesnt come in to session until 1 00 in the afternoon. Thats written down in the senate rules. So that potentially puts senators sitting on the floor until 1 00, 2 00, 3 00 in the morning listening to the arguments if the democrats want to use all of that time. So this is already generat

Jonathan allen at capitol hill, Geoff Bennett at the white house. We mentioned at the top of the show, got breaking news in terms of how the trial might proceed. What can you tell us . Credit Lee Ann Caldwell who is working hard this morning, over the weekend, along with others. What were hearing is that the resolution that Senate Majority leader Mitch Mcconnell is working on which has been seen by some republicans, not all of them, certainly none of the democrats, is going to set up to basically have democrats present their arguments, house managers over a two day period, 12 hours each day, which would run each of the days well into the evening, basically into the midnight hour, probably into the wee hours of the morning, and the president s team present after that. Youre likely talking wednes
Care market costs. Bow sides the economy, we are expecting President Trump to ramp up pressure on congress to pass a bill on infrastructure and immigration reform. One topic is expected to be missing from the president s address, and its the one subject everyone seems to be talking about, the russia investigation. Capitol hill is still buzzing about the House Intelligence Committee voting along party lines to release a classified memo that republicans say shows corruption at the fbi and proves Robert Muellers investigation is pacbased on a fraud. Congress mman devin nunes avoid the question about the memo today. Chairman, can we ask you about the release of the memo . Are you glad the committee voted . Talk to the democrats. They talk to you, i dont. Well, i cant comment yet on whats in the gop memo. It is a very misleading spin designed to attack the fbi and the department of justice. It has a lot of flaws in it. The fact they wouldnt allow the fbi to come to our committee to tell us
It is meet the press daily. Im katy tur in for chuck todd. Nancy pelosi says that the impeachment inquiry will move expeditiously. And late this afternoon, Rudy Giuliani is being subpoenaed by congress for documents pertaining to his involvement in ukraine. The House Intelligence Committee says it wants the documents by october 15th. And the subpoena letter comes with a message similar to the one that they gave secretary of state mike pompeo in his subpoena for documents on friday. Quote, your failure or refusal to comply with the subpoena including at the direction or behest of the president or white house shall constitute evidence of obstruction of the houses impeachment inquiry and may be used as inference against you and the president. The subpoena letter also requests giuliani produce any Text Messages and other communications that indicated Trump Administration officials were involved in the ukranian deals, something giuliani has not admitted in interviews. Giuliani says that he
