Its continuing at a pace and with an intensity that i have never seen before. Ive worked in and on haiti for over 30 years now, and its by far the worst ive ever seen it. Kidnappings, rapes, killings. People are living in terror. They cant leave their houses in many cases. They certainly cant get out of the city. Its like an open air prison, except theyre not even open air any more because many people i know are in hiding in their houses, or theyve even had to leave their houses because theyre afraid theyre going to be targeted.
