Draw Realistic Dog Portraits – 7 p.m. July 12 via Zoom. Those ages 18 and older will be guided by Christine Thornton, owner and founder of Hello Art Studio, as they learn to produce a likeness of man’s best friend complete with accurate proportions and shading. Artists can draw a dog using a provided photo or by using their own photo for reference. Students can provide their own materials or they can pick up a free kit at Rodman Public Library. Kits include all suggested supplies – pencil, eraser, drawing paper, kneaded eraser, blending stump and darker drawing pencil. Class size is limited to 20 participants, and registration is required at rodmanlibrary.evanced.info/signup or by calling 330-821-2665, Ext. 107.

In the middle of 2020 when stores were closing and local markets were being cancelled, two local maker friends decided over dinner and drinks that they didn t want to sit around and wait for things to start up again. Out of the desire and need to create opportunity for local makers and small businesses, Revive Handmade Markets was born.
Arlington Heights makers Christina Klamer of Little Lady Impressions and Alessa Gurrola of Raw Amor Jewelry spent many seasons selling their handmade items at markets around the Chicago area as well as in local stores but when Covid happened, they lost many of their selling opportunities. With plans up in the air and no idea when normalcy would resume, Christina and Alessa decided it was time to create their own market to give all the local makers and opportunity to co
