Lucky for you, WH talked to expert dentists about how to floss properly. And spoiler: You re probably doing it wrong. “Brushing your teeth only cleans three of the five exposed tooth surfaces,” explains Bill Dorfman, DDS, a cosmetic dentist based in Los Angeles. “A toothbrush cannot clean in between your teeth, so if you don t floss, you are leaving dangerous bacteria in your mouth.” In addition to giving you bad breath (no one needs that!), this harmful bacteria can actually cause your teeth to decay.
