I know 50 years must seem like ancient history to you our golden anniversary our newspaper is going to give a gold medal to one of you students. But youre going to have to work for it. Thats right. The medal will go to the best essay on the famous battle of mayberry that historic battle between the early settlers and the indians that established mayberrys place in our state history. As mayberryites you already know something about that battle and about the heroism of the founders of our town but i want you to do some real work on your essays.
