(KPLC) -After hearing from some residents, it seems to be just one thing after another. From rolling blackouts, yesterday to now a depleted water supply for nearly 6,000 residents in Calcasieu Parish. Water access is a major problem for Lake Area residents following this brutal winter storm. Lake Charles city officials said the city’s 6 water plants are producing double what its winter output usually is around this time of year. In all, they’re outputting 18 million gallons a day. ....

As cases and hospitalizations remain steady, a new emergency treatment is being administered in the Lake Area for COVID patients who arenât sick enough for hospitalization. âSo the name is Bamlanivimab..and what it does is block the COVID cells from attacking you,â said Lake Charles Memorial Clinical Manager Monica Carroll. The effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 doesnât end with the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. The FDA gave emergency use authorization to a new monoclonal antibody treatment known as BAM for short on November 9th. ....
