Arcade games, restaurants and shops are all open at Six Flags New England in Agawam. A dinosaur walk-thru event is even coming this month.
All that’s missing is the rides something the state isn’t allowing to reopen until the next step in the reopening plan during the COVID pandemic.
“If you call them an arcade place or just food service and retail shopping area, they would be able to be open,” said Agawam Health Department’s Health Agent, Michael Theroux. ....

Local officials want COVID-19 vaccine site at Spencer Fairgrounds

SPENCER Selectmen said this week they want to try to use the Spencer Fairgrounds as a mass vaccination site and will reach out to neighboring communities to see if they ll join in.
Town Moderator William Shemeth told the board he spent hours on the phone trying to get his parents, both more than 75, signed up for their COVID-19 vaccines. He was eventually able to get them their shots at Big Y and the process was seamless. However, he wonders if an increased demand for vaccines as the state moves into a different tier will make it harder to get appointments. ....

Pembroke s infection rate is declining.
Our case data is trending down, which is great news, she said. We did surge after the holidays. Unfortunately, people gathered, and I understand why they do that, but we saw a case rise as a result of that. ....
