TRURO – After more than a year of consideration and nearly two dozen meetings, the Zoning Board of Appeals approved the Cloverleaf affordable housing project Thursday night. When built, it will be the town’s largest-ever housing development. The board voted unanimously to grant several waivers to the planned 39-unit housing project off Highland Road, and likewise approved the comprehensive 40B housing permit for the Provincetown-based developer Community Housing Resource. The permit was one of the most significant hurdles for the project and Community Housing Resource president Ted Malone will now work to secure funding for it. He estimated last week that it would take about three years to get to the point when the units are ready for tenants to move in. ....
Cape Cod Times TRURO The Select Board is thinking about hiring an engineer to look at the possibility of extending a municipal water line to the Pond Road area of North Truro. Earlier this month the board talked about having Acting Town Manager Jamie Calise hire an engineering firm to do a study of the area, though it stopped short of directing him to do so. Water quality in North Truro has been a hot-button issue of late with the ongoing hearings around Cloverleaf, a proposed affordable housing complex off Highland Road, though studies in the past have raised concerns about nitrogen in the Pond Village area. ....
