Connecticut non-profits awarded grants through Gannett's A Community Thrives


Two Connecticut nonprofits have been awarded grants through the Gannett Foundation, including one that is among 16 organizations nationwide to receive a national merit award.
Havenly Treats in New Haven has been awarded $50,000 as part of the Gannett Foundation s National Merit Award program and another $7,500 through the local operating grants program. The Youth Mental Health Project Inc. in Darien also received $5,000 through the operating grants program.
All awards are through the A Community Thrives grantmaking and crowd-funding program from the USA TODAY NETWORK, which includes the Norwich Bulletin, and is part of the Gannett Foundation. A Community Thrives supports nonprofit organizations with projects focused on community building and has helped to contribute more than $12 million since 2017.
