(WTWO/WAWV) — After having a condensed event last year, the Vigo County Fair will return to normal in 2021. “So thankfully, I think we’re over the hump,” Jenny Hamilton, Vigo County Fair events and marketing coordinator, said Wednesday. “And we are planning a full-fledged 2021 Vigo County Fair.” Hamilton said that the local health department has already given the okay to proceed. Fair officials will encourage social distancing, and anyone who wants to wear a mask will be encouraged to do so. Hand sanitizer stations will also be set up around the fairgrounds.

Terre Haute Savings Bank observes its 150th anniversary by giving to 14 nonprofits

(WTWO/WAWV) Terre Haute Savings Bank, in business since 1869, wrapped up its year-long 150 th anniversary celebration by supporting 14 nonprofit organizations. Since last December, THSB has been celebrating 150 years of supporting consumers and businesses in the communities in Vigo and Clay counties served by the bank. In 2019, there were five recipients for the initial THSB Week of Giving. This year, THSB donated $16,000 to 14 community nonprofits. Those receiving funds were the Hospice of the Wabash Valley, Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club, Riley Lion’s Club, Catholic Charities, Manna from Seven, Toys for Tots, Providence Food Pantry, Camp Navigate, Clay County Humane Society, Council On Domestic Abuse (CODA), Happiness Bag, Salvation Army, Noon Optimist Clothe-a-Child and Bikes for Tykes.
