The Republican Party is the party of the union. We want to unite people. The Democratic Party wins elections by dividing america into classes and groups. That is how they win and they go out and try to pump up the boats within their own little groups. But at some point when the dollar loses enough of its value then the Federal Reserve will have to decide are we going to be germany or are we going to be zimbabwe and are we going to let the dollar go to zero or are we going to stop that . The only way to stop it is to jam on the brakes let Interest Rates skyrocket start selling down their portfolio treasuries in mortgagebacked securities so it would be massive debt liquidation. It would be a huge implosion much bigger than any crisis we have had before because banks are going to fail and governments will default in the government will have to default on its debts. The production doesnt stop. The factories are still here. We have a currency crisis. It doesnt mean the factories that are producing, they dont stop producing stuff but what changes is who gets to buy this stuff. Right now america disproportionately read by a lot of the stuff that gets produced in factories all around the world. But when the dollar goes down somebody else is going to outbid us just like we are outbidding them. So i want to own Companies Whose customers are going to own the currencies that will gain value against the dollars because those customers are going to have more buying power. So the earnings of these Companies Need to go up when our customers have more purchasing power in most of the Global Customers now dont need credit. They have savings. Americans have no savings and whatever little savings we have are about to collapse in value. I dont want my customers being americans. He was definitely an engaging teacher and as you mentioned his experiments influence a lot of people including including you. [inaudible] this is a bit of a followon and im still trying to formulate what is probably a very elementary question but you talk about all the research you did and obviously he mixes in real historical characters with his primary fictional characte characters. Was he primarily using fiction to illuminate history and historical forces or using history to illuminate human nature . Yes and yes. [laughter] i mean thats a huge question. One of the criticisms that this book has received is that tolstoy intentionally distort historical facts for his own purposes so for instance he creates in the character could to save us a far more salt of the earth kind of character than he actually was. He was apparently much more widely, much more questionable in terms of his morals so historians have accused the full story of using history and distorting it for his own ends. I do
