Gov t kills PPADB, Ministries now control tenders

Effective April 1st this year, various government ministries through their accounting officers will now be at the fore-front of adjudicating and awarding tenders worth billions of pula.  This comes after parliament passed a bill last year to overhaul public procurement.

Electricity prices could go up

Consumers could pay more for electricity this year, as the government owned power producer, Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) plans to increase prices for electricity by 5% with effect from the 1st of April 2022.
