India is set to acquire an unspecified number of SMASH-2000 plus system- Israeli cutting-edge fire control systems that would help tackle drone threats from close range besides improving a soldier’s accuracy and speed of hitting targets.
As reported by EurAsian Times, the SMASH-2000 ‘fire control system’ looks like any other expensive optical sight attached to a rifle, but it certainly packs a lot more technology than a casual electro-optic technology.
SMASH-2000 is developed by Smart Shooter, a company that has been developing systems to help militaries track and engage moving targets.
Israel is perhaps the only country that has served as the bedrock of India’s defense in recent months. It has provided India every opportunity to prime its frontiers, which surely has given the latter an edge in its technological capability to counter China and Pakistan.

Hanukkah is also known as Chanukah. It is an eight-day Jewish celebration that marks the rededication during the second century BC of the Second Temple in Jerusalem, where according to legend, Jews had risen up against their Greek-Syrian oppressors in the Maccabean Revolt. (ANI)

Leaders across the globe issued well-wishes to the Jewish people on Thursday ahead of the start of Hanukkah.
US President Donald Trump stated, “During this holiday season, the First Lady and I send our warmest greetings to the millions of Jewish people in the United States and around the world as they begin the celebration of Hanukkah and the miracle that kept the flames of the menorah burning in the Second Temple for eight nights.”
“The candle-lighting tradition that began over 2,000 years ago is rooted in perseverance and faith two virtues that are indicative of the Jewish culture and the Jewish faith,” he added.
