Northwestern’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving squads participated in the Purdue Invitational from Thursday to Saturday, finishing first and second, respectively. The Wildcats competed against Illinois, Illinois State, Marshall, McKendree, Missouri State, Purdue and Southern Illinois. On Thursday, the men’s team walked away with two wins and the lead. Graduate student Andrew Martin placed.
Northwestern women’s swim and dive hosted Miami and Southern Illinois this Saturday, while the men’s team only faced the latter. The women’s squad defeated the Hurricanes and the Salukis by margins of 181.5-112.5 and 197-102, respectively. The Wildcats’ men’s group was also victorious, defeating Southern Illinois 207-89. The NU women set the standard Saturday, sweeping.
Northwestern women’s swim and dive team competed in the Women’s Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships at Canham Natatorium in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The meet lasted from Wednesday, Feb. 15 to Saturday, Feb. 18. On day one, the Wildcats’ team of freshman Audrey Yu, sophomore Justine Murdock, senior Hannah Brunzell and graduate student Miriam Guevara.
Minnesota sophomore Bar Soloveychik relegated the Gophers’ oldest school record to the archives during Friday’s meet against Northwestern, Purdue, and Iowa.
