Police Standoff In Buckfield, Maine According to a press release from the Maine State Police: When Troopers attempted to make contact with Daniel Sweetser, 34, of Buckfield, he answered the door carrying an ax. Troopers withdrew and called for assistance. The on-duty Sergeant made contact with the man over the phone and he agreed to come out peacefully. He was arrested and was transported to Kennebec County Jail. According to the Lewiston Sun Journal, there are several law enforcement agencies at the scene of a reported standoff in the small Maine town of Buckfield.
