Attempted murder defendant skips sentencing, cuts off ankle monitor


The man charged in a Dawson Springs Road attempted murder case was scheduled for sentencing Wednesday morning, but failed to appear in Christian Circuit Court and allegedly removed his ankle monitor, preventing him from being tracked via GPS.
Judge John Atkins advised the court that he had been aware that Brian Ellis, 44, had removed his ankle monitor Wednesday morning and stated that the court would be issuing warrants for his arrest.
Shortly after the Christian County Sheriff’s Office released a press release requesting the public’s help in locating Ellis.
According to the release, Ellis’ last location was the Sunoco gas station on West Seventh Street in Hopkinsville where he cut his ankle monitor off. ....

Second suspect in Burke's Outlet parking lot robbery enters guilty plea | News


The second suspect involved in a robbery at Burke’s Outlet parking lot entered a plea deal Thursday afternoon in Christian Circuit Court.
Tyler T. Parker, 19, appeared in Judge Andrew Self’s court via Zoom while at the Christian County Jail to enter a guilty plea to his involvement in the case.
Parker was originally charged with first-degree robbery, possession of drug paraphernalia while armed, possession of marijuana while armed and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
Thursday, he entered a guilty plea to the amended charges of second-degree robbery and possession of paraphernalia while his marijuana and weapon charges were dismissed. His plea carried a recommended sentence of two total years in prison. ....
