Former University of Alabama second baseman Peyton Wilson has agreed to a full slot value deal with the Kansas City Royals. Wilson was drafted with the No. 66 overall pick in the 2021 MLB First Year Player Draft last week. His agreement with the Royals pays him $1,003,300 according to Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline.

Wilson is the younger brother of former Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson and Crimson Tide baseball player Ross Wilson. The Hoover, Al. native spent the last two seasons playing multiple positions for the Alabama baseball team.
Wilson earned two honors for his second season in college baseball. Wilson earned a place on the All-SEC Second Team and Newcomer All-SEC Team. Wilson led the the Crimson Tide in hits (72), runs (46) and stolen bases (10) while tying for second in doubles (13) this year for the Crimson Tide. Wilson recorded nine home runs this season with five to lead off a game.
