RANCHI: The Guru Nanak Public School here is open but there were only a handful of students on the campus on Monday morning. All of them wearing masks but a sense of worry can be seen on their faces. The academic atmosphere in the educational institutes, which were reopened recently, is now an entirely different scene after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the schools, as students moved towards their respective classes, the teachers kept an eye on them from various corners of the campus and issued a stern warning if they get close to each other. ....

With board exams on anvil, pupils flock back to schools | Ranchi News

Ranchi: With Class X and XII board examinations approaching, attendance of students who will be appearing for the examinations has improved in private and government schools across the state. The state government had last month allowed resumption of offline classes for these students to help them prepare for their exams.
Director (secondary education) Jata Shankar Choudhary said attendance in government school has picked up with each passing day. He stated, “Overall attendance in schools rose from 20% in the third week of December to between 40% and 50% now. Parents’ confidence about sending children is also gradually increasing.”
Ashutosh Singh, principal of Amar Sahid Thakur Vishwanath Sahdeo Zila School, said around 150 of 350 students in Class X and Class XII were present at school on Monday, much better than the 25% in the initial days. He said as per the instructions of the education department, strict adherence of Covid protocol is being ensured and parents ....

Schools brainstorm to chalk out a plan for virus-free classrooms | Ranchi News

RANCHI: As the state education department has made it mandatory for teachers to conduct online classes from school campus now, schools are brainstorming to put in place a foolproof plan that will ensure that all safety norms are maintained properly, especially when offline classes for Class X and XII examinees resume.
Guidelines pertaining to when classes for board examinees will resume are yet to be issued by the education department.
Delhi Public School, Ranchi principal Dr Ram Singh said, “We are awaiting the government guidelines on how to conduct offline classes. The school has formed a team that will prepare an elaborate plan to conduct classes smoothly. The team will also speak to other schools for preparing the plan.” ....

A truck loaded with thermals, sweaters, medicines, mufflers, socks, turbans, garbage bins and more were sent from Ludhiana to the Tikri border Tuesday evening.
Meanwhile, around 60 Ludhianavis also reached the border Wednesday afternoon to distribute these items among farmers protesting there against the Centre’s farm laws. ....
