Ranchi: After the declaration of Class X results by various boards, admission activities have picked up in city schools and colleges. Jawahar Vidya Mandir Shyamli, which had allowed students to take provisional admission in Class XI, has sent an e-mail to students asking them to submit their mark sheets. Principal Samarjit Jana said, “Students who fulfil our cut-off marks criteria will make it to the final list. We would refund the admission fees of those who will not make it to the list.” An official of the Sarla Birla Public School also said that the school administration would review the provisional admissions given to students of Class XI. She said, “Students falling short of cut-off marks by a narrow margin would be counselled so that he or she could take admission either in a different stream or choose a different combination of subjects.” ....
(Representative image) RANCHI: Members of Private Schools and Children Welfare Association (PSCWA) met chief minister Hemant Soren on Friday and urged him to take steps to reopen schools. The state president of PSCWA, Alok Dubey, said, “We met the CM at Project Bhawan and requested that a mechanism be developed for reopening schools for senior students. The school staff must also be vaccinated.” He stated that livelihood of lakhs of people working as teachers and employees of private schools have been affected by the government decision. Members of the organization said that it is now 16 months since the educational institutions were first closed by the government due to Covid-19 pandemic. He pointed out that several states like Bihar and Rajasthan have decided in favour of reopening schools. Dubey said that the CM has assured to look into the matter seriously. ....
