YORK, Maine Local police made eight arrests last week and responded to a wide variety of calls, including four reports of suspicious activity, nine motor vehicle accidents involving property damage, three reports of a scam and three reports of domestic disturbance, according to a weekly incident log released Tuesday by the York Police Department.
The following information was included in the YPD weekly incident log for Monday, May 24, through Sunday, May 30: A report of fraud was made May 24 about 1 p.m. on Linscott Road. A traffic stop May 24 about 4:30 p.m. near U.S. Route 1 and Fieldstone Estates Road led to the summons of a 40-year-old resident of Durham, New Hampshire, for operating a vehicle without a license.
Dog days of winter
Twice during the week of Feb. 15-21, Boxford police received reports of dogs being reunited with their owners after being out and about:
Monday, Feb. 15, at 1:24 p.m., a resident of Gunnison Road reported finding two dogs that were not wearing collars. The owners were located, and the dogs were returned to them.
Thursday, Feb. 18, at 10:07 a.m., an Ipswich Road resident reported his black Lab had run off. A short time later, he called to say the dog had come home.
Three large dogs were spotted in the middle of the street on Herrick Road on Friday, Feb. 19, at 5:17 p.m. Animal control responded, but the dogs were gone.
