Town fire crews, backed up by personnel from Guilford and East Haven, were called to put out a large brush fire in Beacon Hill Preserve Saturday, March 13, 2021.Contributed / Branford Fire Department BRANFORD A large brush fire that drew all of the town’s fire companies to the Beacon Hill Preserve Saturday afternoon is under control, fire officials said. The fire was first reported around 5 p.m., according to the Branford fire officials. It was spotted by a pilot flying over the area, the television station WFSB reported. Fire officials reported the brush fire was “still active but under control” as of around 9 p.m. Saturday. Additional crews from Guilford and East Haven were called in to assist in the efforts, and the Shoreline Trolley Museum helped shuttle personnel into the area. ....
