Greensboro: Crime Stoppers searching for missing woman

The Greensboro Police Department and Guilford County Sheriff s Office are investigating the death of a woman who was missing since March 1.Police said Friday the body of Nikki Shore, 40, was found. Greensboro Crime Stoppers had been asking for the community s help finding her. She was last seen on Feb. 22. Shore is about 5 feet, 2 inches tall and about 130 pounds with hair that is a mix of gray, brown, red and blonde, Crime Stoppers said. She has brown eyes.She was reportedly operating her 2011 burgundy Subaru Impreza with an unknown paper registration, according to Crime Stoppers.This is a developing story. “He’s my buddy. I love him so much, and not knowing what was going to happen was so scary. We searched for hours for him,” said Chris Kiertz.
On Tuesday, Kiertz, Furbush, and their 4-year-old rescue, Harley, were driving to their newly-purchased home and made a quick pitstop in Milford to pick up a few items. They left the car running for Harley, locked the door, and took the keys with them. But when they returned, both the dog and the car were gone. They imagined the worst.
“Not knowing where he was and knowing that he could potentially spend the night in sub-freezing cold temperatures, it was scary,” said Kiertz. ....

With the rising cost of health care a central issue this legislative session, lawmakers and Gov. Ned Lamont’s administration have both moved ahead with their own plans aimed at driving down prices and improving access.
Last fall, key Democrats pledged to deliver a sweeping public option bill, and they followed up in February with a broad proposal that includes a state-sponsored plan for small businesses and nonprofits, a tax on insurers, and additional subsidies for people who buy their insurance on Connecticut’s health exchange, Access Health CT. ....
